final interview/s, I
will set up meetings at major recruitment fairs, in major cities that I am
visiting throughout the year or ask you to come to
Muscat
.
During your interview you will learn in more detail about life
in
Oman
and
the school's expectations and conditions of employment. Please bring to our
meeting appropriate questions or comments you have concerning the information
contained herein.
As with any
international school there is a certain amount of staff turnover, and as a
result, replacing or supplementing such a very rich and vital resource with
talented, committed and positive teachers must be my highest priority. Some of
the characteristics that I look for in teachers are the following:
-
Someone who can
recognize and teach to the needs of the individual child
-
A teacher who knows how
to use a variety of methods, strategies, and instructional techniques as well
as understands how these fit to the
ABA
curriculum
-
Reflects and emulates
the ability to work as a team member in all aspects of school life
-
One who actively works to involve community members in the
learning process; both inside and outside
of the school environment
-
Actively takes part in
staff development opportunities and views themselves as a learner too
I look forward to having
the chance to meet with you and talk at greater length. I do hope that this
overview of the school assists you in determining whether or not you wish to
pursue a position with us.
For those who do
"join-up", I can promise you professionally challenging work and a personally
exhilarating stay in
Oman
